We are thrilled to announce a new research project in collaboration with the Jefferson Autism Center of Excellence: "Testing Design Thinking Methodology to Engage Hispanic and Latino Families of Autistic Children in Research."

What is this project about?

We aim to learn more about the experiences of Hispanic and Latino families when accessing or using therapy services for their autistic children. Our goal is to understand the challenges these families face and how we can improve access to and utilization of these vital services. Additionally, we are working to adapt an evidence-based therapy program to better serve the unique needs of our community.

Who are we looking for?We are currently seeking participants who can help us shape this important research:

  • Autistic individuals aged 18 or older from the Hispanic/Latino community

  • Parents or caregivers of Hispanic/Latino autistic children

  • Occupational therapists working with Hispanic/Latino families

  • Teachers of Hispanic/Latino autistic children

Why is this important?

Your voice matters! Participants will join a group session to share their experiences and suggestions. Interpreters will be available to ensure clear communication, and participants will review an adapted manual and complete a survey.
